GoldenPeat® Coco Coir manufacturing is an 12-step process with strict quality checking before they are shipped to our customers:

Dehusking

GoldenPeat® Coco Coir is extracted from the protective husk of the coconut. The matured coconut crop is dehusked after the curing process. Quality is tested while coconut is harvested, prepared, and processed for the result of high-quality coco coir products. Only the top graded coco pith is used in GoldenPeat® Coco Coir products.

Washing

The top graded coco pith is left in a clean weed free cement floor for over 18 months. During this time, the monsoon rain washes off excess salts from the coco pith and make the coco pith pH neutral. The coco pith is also washed with fresh water to bring the pH and Electric Conductivity to desired level.

Testing

Testing for moisture of the material, EC (Electrical Conductivity Ratio) level and pH (Acidity or Alkaline of the coco peat material) is done and meet the specifications. Our products are manufactured under strict quality control standards at every stage.

Drying

Wet coir pith is dried under sun in cement yard as well as hot air drier machine under controlled conditions. The drying process in the cement yard is free from weed or pathogens or any other foreign particles. Once the coir pith reaches the desired moisture level, it is passed for testing.

Testing

After drying, Moisture content of the material is checked and passed for Sieving process.

Sieving

During the sieving process, the fibre chunks and other impurities are removed. Once we have the pith to the required sieving size, the material is further sent for drying to reduce moisture content. In the final screening / sieving process, the sand is removed by using our automated screeners.

Testing

The sieved coir pith is again tested for their impurities, electrical conductivity, moisture content and approved by a Quality Controller. As per the density, the pith is grouped. Since it’s the final screening process, the coco peat is thoroughly tested for any impurities or bigger coco husks.

Pressing

The screened and dried coco peat will be compressed to make GoldenPeat® Coco Coir 5kg blocks, 650gm bricks, and grow bags using our modernized and full automated hydraulic compression machines. The operation teams make sure the right compression ratio is maintained for all our product lines. We also create the right blend of coir pith, fibres, and chips as per customer requirement, and compressed into blocks, briquettes / bricks, grow bags or husk chips.

Testing

Compressed GoldenPeat® Coco Coir peat blocks & grow bags are checked under stringent quality control standards and tested for moisture and impurity randomly. The compressed block is checked for correction of weight and then passed on for packing.

Packing

The compressed GoldenPeat® Coco Coir peat blocks & grow bags are tested for visual defects and weight before labelling and packing them individually. Individual blocks or grow bags are packed as per the specifications of the customer (sealed in growbags or shrink wrapped with / without label or packed in cartons). These products are packed in pallets or floor loading as per the requirement for shipping.
